It was only a month ago Delaney and I were talking about surprise parties. We each were speaking of what we wanted for our birthdays which was a surprise party and we both agreed that we would plan each others parties. But the catch was that we didn't know when to expect it or how many people would be there or where it would be located. Little did my youngest niece Delaney knew that myself, her sisters (Ashley, Brittney and Courtney), her mama and daddy were all in on the logistics of the party.
Little did she know that her birthday party was being held on Saturday October 26th @ 2pm. She stayed the night with a friend of the families so we can could everything together and so she wouldn't be asking too many questions. She arrived about 15 minutes late, she was stunned and surprised who was all attending her party. She was bashful at first but it didn't take long and she was back to the old Delaney like everyone knows.

Like I said before she knew that I was planning a party but didn't know when, which was good because if she was old enough and had Facebook it wouldn't be hard to figure out. Delaney only asked for three different things for her birthday. One was a cell phone, two was a bicycle (that she picked out at Wal-Mart) and third was a hello kitty basket for her bicycle. She had in set in her mind that Brittney's boyfriend Brandon was buying her a bicycle since he bought Brittney her bicycle. Brittney was determined to top all the gifts by getting her a cell phone and her presentation surpassed all the other presents. She wrapped her cell phone in a small box then put it into a huge box stuffed with canned goods to make it seam heavier and bigger than just a cell phone. My brother and sister-in-law did get the bicycle she was hoping to receive and Brandon got her hello kitty basket that fit perfectly on her new bike.

During her birthday party we played a few games outside. One of them was called: Chicken Relay Race. You may have not heard of it, if you have you know how funny it is to watch. The concept of the game is to put a tennis ball in between your knees, try to walk/run/hop down to the other end and drop your tennis ball in the bucket that your laying an egg. Then run back to your group and the next person in line goes next.
Our next game was called: Mummy Wrap. All of you may of heard of this game it may be more of a Halloween game the kids still had their fun. Again, we had two different teams, one person is designated to be the mummy and the other people in the group try to wrap up the mummy as fast as they can by using 2-3 rolls of toilet paper. The best part was seeing them try to wrap each other up with cheap toilet paper that kept ripping. They all did a great job and had lots of fun.
The last game was a balloon game. They had to run to the other end with chairs facing toward them, they had to place the balloon under them, try to sit on the balloon and pop it. This game was funny to see their faces trying to make it pop without it scaring them.
In between the games and eating it was time for cake!

Before everyone left the party we made sure to get some family/friend photos.
I would like to send a special thanks to: Ashley, Brittney, Courtney, Liane for getting everything organized, getting her friends to attend without her knowing and making all the logistics fall into place, to my brother David for preparing the hot dogs on the grill and a special thanks to my mom for driving up from Florida to surprise Delaney herself. Happy 9th Birthday! Remember my birthday is March 21st only 5 months away I look forward to what you have in store for my surprise party.
Love Always,
Bubba
I'm so happy that you were able to surprise her -- you know those little girls can be hard to fool!!! the picture where she is opening the cell phone is just precious. She is SO surprised and that was a good idea to package it all up so it was heavier than what the cell phone would have been . She is a very lucky girl to be loved by so many people!!!
