This was the McCallister first experience with the LeMons. We saw it online on the Kershaw County event calendar and thought it would be fun to go. If you don't know what a LeMon is here is a description for you: A LeMon is a car that is found to be defective only after it has been bought with numerous issues or a car that has flaws too great to repair.
The first list of events was a block party on Friday September 20th beginning at 6PM downtown Camden, on Broad Street with live music performed by: Ten Toes Up. Each car was in the parade showing off their made up cars with each team member dressed in costume. Downtown was filled with all the LeMons cars with each team member pumped for the races to begin on Saturday.
We both enjoyed walking down each side of the street to see how much detail each team put into their cars. Being that these were beater cars they aren't going to come out the same and each team took the time to make their car unique in their own way. It was funny to see all the team members dressed up in costume to match the theme of their car.
After enjoying the block party full of all LeMon cars with their teams we were ready for dinner. We picked our favorite place downtown called: Slaud. A Mexican restaurant that has the best freshest food in Camden. No other Mexican restaurant compares to it. Instead of ordering my usual I ordered a veggie quesadilla to share and it was delicious! Since the restaurant was full we were able to sit upstairs on the couches relaxing with our margaritas while people watching.
Each of us enjoyed our evening. We didn't make it to the LeMon race on Saturday due to the weather calling for rain, and the ticket prices were out of range for an outing on a Saturday. Till next year for the LeMon races!
