Monday
Sunday night stayed the night with Barb so we would be ready to leave early Monday morning. Due to our excitement we weren’t able to sleep much. The dogs got Barb up early to go potty in the middle of the night and she couldn’t get back to sleep. Me on the other hand kept tossing and turning. We were packed and on the road by 6:15.
If you know me when I travel, I usually sleep the whole way but not this time! Can you believe it! I stayed awake the whole time. Barb drove the whole way since she wanted to test herself to see if she could drive to Texas. I kept her awake by changing out the CD’s and keeping our conversation going.
As we hit Ohio reaching closer and closer to the Michigan border, Darlene the Garmin told us to take road 33, apparently the back way home. We decided to go ahead and see what Darlene had to show us. As we kept driving we kept stopping at stop lights in the small towns and driving by corn field after corn field. We made it to 127 north. We weren’t for sure if it was the right 127 that takes you all the way to Saint John’s Michigan, but we stayed on it for the adventure. At times we got a little frustrated thinking we were lost; finally saw the Welcome to Michigan sign. Both of us were relieved.

With a sign of relief we made it to the highway, finally could go 70MPH! What a relief. Thinking it would be at least 9PM before we would make it to Hubbardston but we were only a half hour behind schedule. And Barb driving herself. She was excited she made it in 12 hours.
She dropped me off at my parents in H Town. They got their Christmas presents from Mrs. Vicki and Mr. George. They weren’t able to attend Christmas in North Carolina this past Christmas so I brought Christmas to them in August.
Here is what they got:
