Quality Time with Ashley & Brittney

My nieces Ashley and Brittney arrived at the apartment Monday, early afternoon. Just in time to get in some shopping before our trip to Carowinds. I had the honor to take them thrift store shopping, which if you know me, its my favorite. The girls had said they've never been but my mom has. So today it was their day. We had only went to one store where we had all bought sunglasses. The employees had a good time watching us trying on every pair to see what ones looked the best. Then we stopped at Burkes Outlet. I noticed this Burkes Outlet is way better than the one in Anderson.

After our few hours of shopping it was back to the apartment to get Ray and down the highway to Lugoff for the best pizza for dinner. All four of us were starving, was thinking we would have to order two large pizzas but Ray thought one would be enough. He had ordered us bread-sticks for the appetizer. When the pizza came it was devoured within minutes.

Our dinner was wonderful, now back home to veg out and relax before our big day tomorrow. Made brownie sundaes for dessert. They were amazing!

Carowinds

Got the girls up early so we could arrive at the park early before it got too busy. We were going with my youth group at New Prospect Baptist Church. We arrived early and waited. They arrived, now it was time for FUN!

Our first ride we rode was called the Intimitator. It was the Dale Earnhardt roller coaster. It was very scary. You went up this very big hill, felt like forever, then all of a sudden you were going down so FAST. As my way down I felt my stomach cringe, felt my heart pounding, and me SCREAMING! I rode this ride with Brittney and Ashley was right behind us. I hadn't ridden a roller coaster in a three years and it feels like the older I get the scary it is.

Next was the Scooby Doo house. You get in carts, ride around this house and try to shoot the blue lights. It wasn't scary but it was fun. Think we were ready for another roller coaster. We all got in line, buckled in, ready to go. This roller coaster twirled, went upside down, and you were dangling. I was screaming, Brittney was scared, and Ashley was smiling.

When the ride was over we went to the Country Kitchen for lunch. Each plate was about $10. They had Turkey legs, Smoked Turkey, Fried Chicken and all the sides to along with it. Brittney wasn't feeling well after the roller coaster ride. We had thought eating would help but she just kept her head on the table and drank water.

Then made our way to the water park, thinking cooling off would help Brittney feel better. Got in line for a tube water slide for all of us to ride. It was great, opened and not too fast. We noticed individual slides and the line wasn't as long so we made our way over there. Ashley and Britteny went down first. Then, it was my turn. I usually don't like these kind of slides but thought I should try it. Got in crossed my arms and my legs. It was black. I couldn't see anything. Then it started going faster and noticed more curves. It kept going FASTER AND FASTER! It was like your gliding in air. Couldn't wait to see the light. Finally, there it was the end. Asked the girls how they like it, they said NEVER AGAIN! It was very scary but do recommend you just try it once. Decided after that trembling scary ride we needed to slow it down on the lazy river.

After our long day at the park I was ready to get real food, good food, and a good dinner. Asked them if they would want to stop at Cracker Barrel, which is my favorite place. I settled for breakfast, Brittney got steak with green beans, and Ashley got the same as me. It hit the spot.

Back on the road. Made it home for some TV and dessert.

Had such a wonderful day at the park with the girls but didn't realize this until we had gotten home. The girls said that I embarrassed them on the rides because I was screaming. Which, I was scared but I wished I would have known this before because maybe they would of rode more rides with me (I mean fast rides). Sorry girls for embarrassing you. I love you and hope to spend more time with you both this summer.
