Road Trip

Day 6
Happy Thanksgiving

The morning I was out in the woods hunting with my dad. We haven't hunted together in the same shack in a long time. It felt like old times. Just before 9:00 we saw a herd of deer all does and fawns walking along the edge of the woods. They stayed in the woods, none of them came out to the food plot. Which, was a bad sign for us due to the doe I had shot the night before we were hoping that her two fawns would walk out but they didn't. I know that sounds bad but not if your a hunter.

After sitting in the shack till about 9:30 we walked through the woods body searching. Some of you may not know what that means, it means searching for her body somewhere since we didn't have a blood trail or anything the night before. My dad and I walked everywhere...and no sign of her.

Well no deer for me...maybe next year. This is the first one that I've messed up with gun.

Now time for fun, family and food at Marie's Thanksgiving lunch.

After lunch with the McAlvey's and Schrauben's we drove to Lansing to have dinner with my sister. Her husband had cooked the turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls, and pumpkin pie. I made blueberry delight pie, cornbread casserole and mac and cheese. Everything was amazing.

As soon as we got to her house the kids ran immediately to the bag full of presents. They kept asking can we open presents, and my answer was always no, not until after dinner. As soon as dinner was over...they were ready. They loved their presents and enjoyed their toys. They are so cute!

Thank you both for a wonderful Thanksgiving! We love you all very much!!
