Sitting in church one Sunday morning I saw they were having a Beth Moore bible study every Tuesday morning. The study is called "It's Tough Being a Woman". When I started, I thought it was the first day but I started in the middle of the study. During the study it has been great for me. Hearing Beth Moore on the videos has been very inspiring and helpful.
Here is a few things that I've learned so far:
Turn it Around
She had given this handout to use for the note cards.
She taught us to Turn it Around. Whenever us ladies are feeling down turn that around to something good and to glorify God. Such as:
Beth Moore taught us the scenarios in reverse order. Your suppose to get 7 different note cards and write each scenario on the front with the corresponding Bible verses on the back. So, whenever your feeling like your in the darkest hole alone turn to your uplifting verses to pull you through it.
Scenario #7
Feeling Over Responsible
Who feels responsible for the how.
(This one hit home with me. With Ray starting his new job, me laid off for the summer, moving, didn't know how I would handle it all. But then hearing Beth we don't have to be responsible for the how we just have to be responsible for us in what we can do to glorify God. We as woman need to leave the big things for God to handle).
2 Peter 2:9
Psalm 103:14
Scenario #6
Overanxious
Who can balance passion with patience
Issaih 30:18
Scenario #5
Under Attack
In the tight fist of fear
Deut. 33:29
Neh. 4:14
Isaiah 49:16
Scenario #4
Under qualified
Thrown a giant size weight
I feel this one a lot with job searching. I just feel like everything thing I'm interested in always flops. Or the people interviewing just don't give me the chance. Or maybe I'm just not qualified for that position. Or maybe that other person is better fit for the job than me. Or maybe God wants me somewhere else and I'm just getting frustrated with where I want to be than where God wants me.
1 Peter 5:7
Deut. 23:5
Scenario #3
Overwrought
In a mean world
I think this speaks to every woman.
1 Tim. 1:18, 19
Scenario #2
Underrated
in a world where beauty is a treatment
As woman we think of beauty as a treatment. You know getting your hair done, nails, massages, makeup and so on. But for me I have to remember as it says in Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful, doesn't matter if our hair is done for the day or our face or our nails or even our outfit looks right. I/we have to remember God made us beautiful without the extras.
Eccl 3:11
Scenario #1
Overshadowed
in another woman's shadow
What woman doesn't feel this way. Comparing yourself to other woman. I've been there.
Psalm 91:1
I hope this helps my woman readers with their fears, failures, frustrations, and being a godly woman in today's world.
