A Fresh New Start

Receiving bright new shiny things feels so good
They have that smell of newness
We get excited because its new and not used
It's ours because we paid full price

We want what makes us feel good at the moment
Not knowing weeks or months later
We've already forgotten what our new item we purchased or that we received
In the end we realize we didn't need that bright shiny new thing

I received a bright shiny new bicycle for my birthday
As I look at my bike it resembles how I want my life to be
It's new with an open road ahead
It's free of dents, scratches or rust
It's new, clean and all mine

My new bike is called the Windwood
She may look too old for me but she's just what I need
She takes me around town when I need to put my worries and thoughts to the side
She makes me feel like a kid again when my hair blows in the wind

My new bright shiny new bicycle is my fresh new start
I want my pain, hurt and scars to fade away
So I'm clean and brand new like my brand new bicycle the Windwood
