Bubba's Dish of The Day


Fresh Apple Cake


Ingregients
1 cup of oil
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups of sugar
(beat these ingredients until creamy in a large bowl)

Then add:
2 1/2 cups of self rising flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring


3 cups of peeled sliced and diced apples (granny smith, red, golden delicious or winesape apples)
1 cup of nuts (optional)

(I used 4 granny smith apples)

Mix all ingredients and bake in a 9" X 13" X 2" pan at 300 degrees for an hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Our comments: I thought this was delicious and will definitly make it again. I took it to a church function and they all loved it too. Ray thought it was a hit too! Please let me know if you try this dish!

  2. Hi Bubba --- I have tried this recipe (it was called Apple Dapple Cake) And I loved it and have made it several times for birthdays and gatherings at the office. It's always very moist and simply delicious!!!

  3. Sound yummy! Ive made a similar cake I found in the old Schrauben family cookbook. I have some apples in the freezer, perhaps I will thaw them out and try this tomorrow....

    Thanks for a piece of this cake you made. I thought it was sooo yummy and yes, very moist. My only complaint about it is when it was gone.
