Our 2nd visitors showed up only two days after our first visitor left. They drove straight through the night to get here in time to enjoy the day and see the sunshine. After being in the car all night and morning they were ready to get out and strentch. Especially their four legged daughter Bella, she was excited to smell the new smells and see whats new in Carolina.
Their first night here we didn't do much since they just arrived and needed rest. We all did enjoyed fishing. The water levels were up so the dock wasn't available for us to use it, so we settled for lawn chairs in the yard. Ray took turns on taking each of us out on the boat to fish, but he caught more than anyone else in the boat.
Saturday morning we all had to get up early to arrive at my 5K race in Camden. The race started at 8AM so we had to leave here by 7 to get there early enough so I could check in and get all my goodies. The website previously said the race began at 7:45 so we actually got there in plenty of time. This race didn't have as many runners so I thought I would have a chance to win a medal. But they did the categories different for this race since there wasn't as many runners the age groups were larger which in the end no medal for me. However, I did beat my last time so I was happy. The afternoon was spent fishing.
Sunday being Mother's Day, since we were all away from our mom's we called them to wish them a wonderful day! We all got up and ready for church. It was youth Sunday at our church so the kids were in charge of worship and sermon (they did a great job). After service we ate lunch at Shawn's favorite place in Camden: Ginza (its a hibachi restaurant, cheap and good). When we arrived home everyone was itching to get changed and get out in the lake for some more fishing. The water was going down so it wasn't has bad but wasn't back to normal. Prior to Josh and Shawn coming in order for Josh to come, I bribed him with a homemade banana cream pie. While everyone was out fishing I was baking. When I completed the pie I began chocolate chip cookies. Then it was time for relaxation and for fishing.
Wednesday was our last day together. Again we went fishing and swimming. The evening we went out to my favorite restaurant in Camden called Salud. Its a Mexican restaurant but its so good and authentic. We all got dolled up for a night out. We came back had a few cocktails and played the bean game.
Then had to say our goodbyes since they were getting up early to leave. Thanks so much for coming to visit. Its so nice to have y'all come down every year I hope the tradition doesn't change. We hope to see you in the fall!

I'm so happy to hear that you were FINALLY able to feed the giraffe's -- do they eat grain or leaves - I couldn't tell what you had in your hand feeding them.
ReplyDeleteYou guys sound like professional fishermen with the 'glow in the dark bobbers' LOL do they work?? Fishing is a lot of fun - but every time that I take Ash & Addi I take the hook off her line and just add a bobber -- so Ash gets too nervous having a hook -- so I take his hook off also and it makes for a lot less exciting fishing -- but it is still lots of fun throwing out the line and catching snails with our nets out on the paddle boat.
So Bubba have you checked to see if your favorite restaurant has the 'seafood nachos' like the Mexican restaurant in Anderson did?
This weekend was Frontier Day's in Carson and we got to take Ash & Addi up for the cookies baking contest and it was so cute because if you pay $1 - you can taste all the cookies in the competition and then vote on your favorite one to win. -- so Ash, Addi and I were tasting cookies and at the second table Asher went to taste a cookie - he asked the lady 'how to you spell Marie' because he wanted to make sure that he voted for his mom to win!!! - it was so sweet - the lady spelled 'Marie' for him and just had to go over and tell Marie what he was up to --- Hannah actually got second place and she was pretty excited about being in the competition!! Anyway this is becoming a book!! Thanks for keeping your blog up -
I really enjoy keeping up on your lives in the south!!!! love you both - mom
