McCallister's Family Vacation

Day 1
Saturday December 24th

Today is Christmas Eve. I set my alarm for 5:30 to get ready for our big trip to Michigan. After I was ready I started paying bills (that were due end of December) and getting everything else together as Ray slept. Before you knew it, it was 6AM and time to get Ray up. We both finished packing and our last minute things and started packing the car. We were on the road by 7AM.

I started driving. The roads were great, not much traffic and the roads were clear too. A couple hours after we were on the road we stopped at Chick-Fil-A for breakfast. I ordered my usual (chicken bagel with egg & cheese) Ray ordered his usual (chicken biscuit). All fueled up and ready to drive.

I drove till we needed gas then Ray took over. He drove till we needed gas which was in Ohio then I took over. I drove all the way to Ray's moms house in Crystal Michigan. We arrived at her home at 8:30PM, making it in 13 1/2 hours. The only person home was Ray's Aunt, Aunt Anita. His mom was looking at lights with his nephew and sister in Greenville.

But before you know it in no time his mom was home and so was his sister and her husband Josh. They all stayed the night since it was Christmas Eve. Shortly after we all went to bed so Santa could deliver the presents.
