Catfish Dinner

It was just a year ago when we moved to the lake and took interest in fishing. We didn't know we would like it so much but now its our quality time together. When were out on the dock or either in the boat its our time away from all the noise of life. Fishing is our time to reconnect with each other and with our inner-selves.

Like I said it was only a year ago when fishing took our lives to a higher standard leading us more together and grounded as a couple. We say were fishing but we both know deep down its our bonding time to grow, to learn and laugh.

We've noticed the prime time fishing is best between the end of April till October. Last week was our first time with our poles in the water and was able to hook fish on the line that were up to standard to keep. My line on the other hand attempted to catch fish but my pole couldn't hold up the big catfish down under. Ray was able to catch a few fish but yet again his pole broke twice while catfish hunter down below was laughing that our poles couldn't hold him.

Due to our poles not breaking anymore Ray bought us stronger line and I a new fishing pole. Its a beauty! Its longer than my previous pole, has a bright orange reel, and most of all the line is best for catching big catfish. It was my first throw in the water and one of those catfish hunters down below hooked on and didn't let go. And my line held up letting me catch my first big catch of the fishing season.

Over our 3-4 days of fishing we had a great number of fish to have our first fish fry. Ray did the honors of filleting the fish and getting rid of the remains.

And I made sure the fish were clean before cooking on the grill. We each enjoyed our first catfish dinner of the season and hope to many more! It feels good to be a fisher-woman!
