This year there were 10 different stops. The majority of the places were business which was a little disappointing since I was expecting see old historic homes. Here is a list of all the stops:
1.Camden Archives & Museum
2.Old McCaskill Farms
3.Home of the Abbots
4.Fine Arts Center
5.Douglas Reed House-Fine Arts Center
6.Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church (our church)
7.Grace Episcopal Church
8.Louise Proctor Hall
9.The National Steeplechase Museum
10.Aberdeen, Home of Jack Brantley
The Old McCaskill Farms was beautiful. Their orginal home burnt down in 2008 and they rebuilt their home to resemble the Cornwallis home. The entrance is just beautiful with the waterfall and the view. The inside is decorated country and done very well. One unique decor they had was their kitchen table, it was made out of the barn door. Which looked great! If like the country you would love to see this home.
The Abbot's home was decorated very nice. I loved the green paint color and the teenagers room. The teenagers room was perfect for a teen girl. She had her own bathroom, desk for doing school work, and window seat (I've always wanted one). This room was AWESOME!
Our church had three members of the church singing Christmas carols.
The Aberdeen home was like no other home I've ever been to. His Christmas lights on his trees outside were huge, they were the biggest bulbs I've ever scene but cool at the same time. When you enter through his door you walk right through a wreath he was wrapped around his front door. Then you go inside and see his Christmas tree. This tree is the biggest fullest tree I've ever scene. I tried to take a picture but he had security there saying you can't take pictures for security reasons. The home was decorated to a T. He had very unique treasures and lots of Christmas decorations.
There was a building outside that was used for cooking many years ago. Many years ago people didn't build their kitchens in the house of being scared their house were burn. So yes, this place was used for cooking and the walls were covered with newspapers for installation.
Looking forward to next years Tour of Homes!
