Texas Roadhouse from the past two weeks or so......
Its been awhile since I've updated y'all about my job. Know y'all are wondering how its been going since my last post. So here it goes. I received my first paycheck last two weeks ago. This is what I made, paycheck total $65.16 doesn't sound too good but when I add in my tips over that two weeks you will be surprised. My tip total was $542.00 which adds up $607.16 total. Some of you may be thinking that its not much for two weeks but it sure is an upgrade from where I was a year ago working at the coffee shoppe. I was happy!
For my next paycheck here is what I made in two weeks:
Week 1
Mon- $22
Tues-$60
Wed-$30
Thur-OFF
Fri-OFF
Sat-$68
Sun-$73
Week 2
Mon-$55
Tues-OFF (picked kids up from school)
Wed-$33
Thur-$56
Fri-OFF
Sat-$55
Sun-$78
Total: $530
(which is less than the previous 2 weeks)
THINGS I'VE NOTICED
while the short time I've been working here, when you ask for days OFF in the requested days off book your not guaranteed to get them. Since, I asked one of the managers the other day, "How do you know if you get a day off that you have requested off"? She said "Not until the schedule comes out". Isn't that crazy. Then she says "Why did you request days OFF"? Obviously, don't they check the stupid RTO (requested time off book)! Guess not! It just seems like everyone I encounter in the SOUTH is seriously stupid and not capable of doing anything right the first time. Then I told her that I asked for next Saturday off, she said "Oh"! She already had me scheduled, she immediately changed it. Thank God! Because I have to be in North Carolina that weekend to Celebrate my niece Delaney's 6th birthday and a Halloween party on that Saturday.
Also, last Saturday the the 16th was like a twilight zone in TRH! I arrived at work at 3PM, and only had one table an hour for three hours. It was absolutely horrible. My first table only gave me three dollars a piece. When each of there tickets were at least $20 a piece and each gave me a dollar. What a slap in the face! Then this other couple comes in and is sat my table. Guess what? You will NEVER guess, so here it goes, the man ONLY orders cheese fries for his dinner and that's IT! Isn't that crazy, I was like seriously. A normal Saturday night I would make at least $70, but due to the SC State Fair in town that didn't happen this weekend.
Then TRH schedules me for a double for Sunday. We open at 11am, and that's when I'm supposed to arrive. I arrive on time and don't get my first table until 11:30. As I notice all the other servers are getting sat and then there is me waiting and waiting to have the STUPID hostess sit people at one of my tables! Finally, get my first table, and its just a MAN alone, an old man, thinking to myself this is not gonna be good. He ended up leaving me $4, which isn't too bad for an old man. As the day continued it got a little better.
By the afternoon came I checked with the hostess where I would be for the evening, since they had said I would be in the same place as before, but NO they changed it. So I had to hurry clean my tables, roll 30 silverware, and wait on my last table to leave so I could clean that table too.
Finally, I got to eat, sit down and relax. After, about 30 minutes of being on break the hostess comes up to me and asks if I would like to take a party at my tables around the bar. I instantly want to say NO, but I say YES! Don't know why, should of gave them a good look down first since all the other servers said NO, they stick them on the new people. Let me just fill you in on these people. They were completely horrible. I go out to great them, get their drink orders, come back to get their appetizer order (which they do order), then come back to get their dinner order (which again they order) but one of the tables didn't order anything except drinks and one guy didn't even order anything. I bring out their food and one of the kids is sleeping in the booth, and the parents were so rude. Finally, they are ready for the bill, their total bill was $86 and some change. They paid in cash $87 and the rest was my tip. I was instantly MAD! I was like Seriously! You've got to be kidding me! So just for the night I only made $33 when any other Sunday night I would have made at least $60 alone.
To many more stories being told from The Texas Roadhouse!
Love y'all
Bubba
