Life's A Beach

Saturday morning was the second part to the birthday party. Were were going to Emerald Isle, Ashley's neighbors have a camper and a boat down there. Miss Valerie the neighbor had told us all to get up by 5am so we would leave 6am and get to the beach by 8am. Miss Valerie wanted us to be there by 8am because the party was going to be out on the island and they would have to do two trips since everyone wouldn't all fit on one trip. Well if y'all know the Mixon's you should know that we are never on time. We didn't leave the house until 7ish and didn't arrive until 9ish and didn't get out on the water until 11ish or about noon. On our way out to the island Miss Valerie's husband Mr. Lee let the girls go water-skiing on the way out. It was fun to watch. Ashley had a tough time staying up, but it didn't take her long to get up there and start skiing. Brittney got up but didn't stay up too long maybe only about 30 seconds at the max. David tried water-skiing but it didn't work, Mr. Lee said his motor wasn't big enough to haul him. When we made it to the island, my brother (David) grilled hot dogs, sausages, and hamburgers. We had left over fruit, chips, and etc. The girls went swimming in the ocean and I layed out in the sun...speaking of laying out before we all ventured off on the island I made all the girls soak up in sunscreen since I didn't want any one to get burnt. While we were out there we noticed we were all getting burnt. I told Liane I did put sunscreen on your kids but I said "I bought that sunscreen last year, maybe it has expired". Just to let y'all know go ahead and check your sunscreen if its from last year go ahead and throw it away but if its from this year y'all are fine.
Miss Valerie (the neighbor) was making fun of my accent the whole time we were on the island...it was kinda driving me crazy and I said one more time and I'll get you...And I did, we both were wrestling on the beach, I think the guys liked it too much. By the time we arrived back to land and it was time to shower I ended up finding sand I had no idea it could even get there. In all in all we all had great time and it was a wonderful adventure I'll never forget. Happy Birthday Ashley I love you and I can't wait to see you and celebrate your next birthday with you.
