AND A NEW DESSERT CALLED:
[Warm Winter Lemon Cake]
Hearing and saying the title may sound difficult but mark my word it is really easy. I found the recipe on www.kraftfoods.com, which is one of my favorite websites for recipes. Because all the recipes are quick, easy, and they don't have crazy ingredients.
My goal this year is try one new recipe each week. I love to cook (I MEAN BAKE) but I need to improve on my cooking skills.
Spagetti Sauce (you can choose which ever sauce you like the best)
Basil (I got it from a jar because I couldn't find fresh at Piggly Wiggly)
Minced Garlic (Again I got from a jar but you can get fresh if you prefer)
Spinach (frozen, thawed and well drained)
Mancotti Shells (calls for 10 shells but you can use more since I had a lot of the filling left over)
Chicken strips cooking (calls for 1 1/2 cooked, chopped chicken breasts)
The filling which is: chicken, garlic, spinach, 1 16oz. cottage cheese, 2 egg whites, 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese. Then spoon into shells.
Before you can fill the manicotti shells you first have to cook them for 7 min. When done cooking place them on a cookie sheet covered in aluminum foil or wax paper so they dry. Be careful when putting the filling in the shells because if you put too much the shells will break.
Me waiting for our feast to be done
The finished product (doesn't look too appetizing with the fresh basil on top, but it was delicious with homemade garlic bread)
Dessert: Warm Winter Lemon Cake
Before
After
