This past weekend I went to the Woman of Faith Conference in Atlanta Georgia with ladies from my church. The morning before we all headed toward Atlanta, I spent my morning in the kitchen whipping up peanut butter blossom cookies with Hershey kisses on top. A full weekend with girls you need peanut butter and chocolate! We departed from the church about 1:30ish on Friday the 28th in three different vans. Everyone was so excited to get into the arena and start filling our spiritual inner self. Before we went to the conference we ate dinner at the Varsity-which is an old drive in place with burgers and fries. I ordered a cheeseburger and shared fries with my friend Carrie. The burger tasted frozen not real but the fries were the best part!
Now onto the Philips Arena for the Woman of Faith Conference to start. It started with Anita Renfroe the christian comedian. She was hiliarious, Here is some videos of my favorites. Y'all will love the videos and songs....its hiliarious!

The next speaker was Patsy Clairmont who is from Michigan and spends her winters in Texas. Her point was fireflies which was a good comparison to friends and families, people that are close to you. She told us a story about her friend that battled cancer and she was there with her until the very end. She reminded me of my Aunt Nancy from home. She wrote the book Catching Fireflies if anyone is interested. Who is your fireflie in your life? After hearing Patsy speak it just made me think of my family at home how much I missed my sisters, nieces, nephews, and my parents. I miss them very much and at times I just feel like I'm missing out on everything.

Next for the day was Steven Curtis Chapman. I had no idea what his story was gonna be like but it made my heart melt and made me miss my dad even more. His songs spoke right from his heart and what he is going through in this life. Have y'all heard the Cinderella song - this song is about his little daughter Maria Sue that had passed away last May at home in a family accident. Their second oldest son was pulling in the driveway very slowly and didn't see Marie Sue in the driveway and had ran over her. Steven was sitting on the porch and witnessed the whole thing. The son that ran over his sister went running full force down the road, the older one followed as well as the older sister to comfort him. They took Maria Sue to the hospital, the doctors tried all they could but they couldn't save her. Can you even imagine, my heart just melted. So this song is about that he'll be able to dance with his Cinderella in heaven. This song also made me think about me and my dad how we are so close and my wedding how we danced together. Now I live so far away at times I wish I lived close to spend quality time with him. Also, realized how much of a good man Steven Curtis Chapman really is, my friend Carrie told me that after they took Maria Sue to the hospital and she wasn't able to make it, he forgave his son and witnessed to the people there in the hospital. He turned a terrible situation and made it into something good, if at all that is possible!
I'm so JEALOUS! But in the best of ways! I didn't realize you were going to get to hear Steven Curtis Chapman sing and speak...I bet that was so encouraging and UPLIFTING!
