7 Year Anniversary

Saturday December 15th was our special day touring the biggest home in America, the Biltmore in Asheville. This year was Ray's job to plan our trip or what we would do to celebrate, and he chose very well. Since I've always wanted to go, but most of all at Christmas. Since everything would be decorated and it would make it more special.

The McCallister's on their way to the Biltmore
We arrived on the grounds just before noon. As turning on the driveway and looking at the beautiful scenery, I was blown away. I could not even imagine even living here now, let alone back in the 1800's. The driveway, the grounds, the views, the house everything was gorgeous and didn't seem real. It was like I was living a fairy tale in real life.
Us in the gardens

Our first stop was the visitors center to get tickets to enter the grounds. Our tickets to enter the house wasn't until 7:45pm since everything would be lite up and decorated for Christmas. In the meantime we had all day to walk around the grounds, see the gardens, gift shops, do some wine tasting, see the museum and get something sweet before entering the wonderful home of the Vanderbilt's.

We finally entered the home at 7:45. As entering the front entrance I was blown away. It was like I was in Cinderella's castle everything was so beautiful. As we entered there were carolers with Christmas decorations everywhere with all sorts of trees ranging from sizes to decorations. Everything was speechless.

Us inside The Biltmore

The ceilings were so tall and so were the doors. The curtains were just as tall and so heavy. Seeing how they lived was simply incredible. Being that the Biltmore had 250 rooms, we weren't able to see every room but my best part was the spiral staircase since it reminded me of  the movie: The Titanic, (I even had Ray wait at the bottom as I walked down just like in the movie). The Biltmore had so many rooms, ranging from the men's room, kitchens, pantry's, bowling alley, gym, pool, changing rooms, family rooms, dining rooms, and many more

Beautiful view of the Biltmore Home

I was simply amazed and can't wait to go back in the spring to see the beautiful gardens. Thank you Ray for a great celebration of 7 years of marriage.
