Ray as a College Graduate
Ray graduated from USC Upstate on May 5th 2009. It was quite the journey to get there but he made it. Even through the late study nights, he was staying focused on the light at the end of the tunnel. He first began college in '02 at Michigan Tech majoring in Computer Science. He ventured off to Michigan Tech in the U.P., if yall don't where that is,it is in the Upper Penisula in MI, which was about 10 hours away from our home town. Him going far away to college was rough on the both us, since we just started dating and have only been together for about 8 months. We both were willing to staying together. By being up there for 3 years with tons of SNOW, very COLD temperatures, NO SUSHINE he wasn't staying focused on his schoolwork and was getting homesick. So, he decided his '05 semester he would transfer to Michigan State so we could be closer together and he thought he could stay more focused on his studies. Which led to him proposing to me October 12, 2005 and we were married Decemeber 17, 2005. He went for one semester right after we were married while I took one semester off, since I was burned out from the wedding, being a full time student, and starting a new job. I had planned to go back and finish after Ray was done with his semester. Again, Ray putting his studies on the back burner to let me finish my schooling. Since it was expensive to pay for the both of us to be in school. I graduated from Baker College in '07. The summer of '07 we moved down to SC. Ray got a job at Electrolux (we were so excited to move someplace warm). Ray was the 1st to move down here to start his job and to get his priorities in order. He decided he was going to finish his schooling and signed up for USC upstate in the disciplinary program, which would take him 2 years to accomplish. Ray did it, he finished his schooling getting a Bachelors in Science! I am so proud of him.
